Hilary Hennon, PCLC, NCC
Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.
Seeking counseling is a courageous act. This human life is inherently difficult, and we each have our own unique set of struggles. This is normal! It can also be deeply painful and challenging. It might feel counterintuitive to turn toward these difficulties, but when we create a safe space to investigate these parts of ourselves and our lives, we also invite the opportunity for growth, empowerment, and healing.
My approach to helping folks achieve meaningful and lasting change is grounded in compassion, curiosity, an open mind, and a sturdy-yet-flexible plan. I have spent most of my life investigating what it means to live a good life, and I’ve learned that just showing up is essential, whether it’s the first step or the thousandth.
I invite you to be your full, authentic self with me. In our sessions together, I aim to create a safe, accepting, nonjudgemental space where together we can explore the things that are important to you. I believe that you are the expert of your own life, which means that our sessions are tailored to your needs, values, and goals. I will collaborate with you so that we may walk together side by side on your path towards self-discovery. You are in the driver’s seat and I will help to navigate!
I earned my Master of Counseling from Oregon State University-Cascades in Bend, Oregon. I am a Counselor Candidate (PCLC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I am passionate about holistic wellness, especially the interconnectedness of the mental, physical, and spiritual facets of our humanness. I will often utilize an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy lens, which explores how accepting, rather than resisting, the tough parts of our lives can free us up to live out our values and commit to a life that is meaningful.
In my spare time, I enjoy being with my loved ones, walking my dog, playing outside, and making art. Humor, joy, and laughter underpin most everything that I do.
