Welcome!

My name is Katie and I have been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor since 2011. I have worked in a variety of settings. This includes an inpatient treatment center for children and teens with the inmate population, and an outpatient center for severely mentally ill adults. I have also worked in a school setting. I have a lot of experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, behavioral issues, personality disorders and those that fall on the spectrum. I am also a certified life coach through Robbins-Madanes Training.

My approach to counseling is one that is client-centered and strength based. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is very important and necessary for change to take place, which is why clients are met with empathy, compassion and without judgement. I also believe everyone has strengths that they possess. I help clients discover those strengths and use them in everyday life. I use a lot of evidence-based approaches (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy and Behavioral Therapy). I also use aspects from Neurolinguistic Programming, neuroplasticity as well as others, based on what is best for the client.

I was born and raised in Montana and have called Missoula home for the past six years. My family and I love being outdoors and exploring all that Montana has to offer. I cannot imagine living anywhere else.

I have a passion for working with those that struggle with anxiety, depression and trauma. I help those struggling in these areas by giving different tools and new ways of thinking to be able to live a happy and wonderful life.
